The large open air lobby is just one of the impressive design elements of the Grand Wailea in Maui, with native tropical fauna, art sculptures, water features and a sunken bar.  Guests are greeted with a series of blue tiled, water channels that lead to a large reflection pond where a bronze mermaid statue lures them to toss coins into her shell bowl. 

The sculpture is by acclaimed artist Jan Fisher.
